Fall Update

The last couple months have been busy ones. At the beginning of September I was called as the secretary of our ward primary. I have been loving my new calling but I haven't had a lot of time to do everything I want. So my poor blog is usually at the very bottom of my list. Here are just a few of the things we've done

Bailey started her 2nd year of preschool after Labor day. She is loving it! She gets to take dance and tumbling after class which makes it even better.

Carter has been super busy with Karate. At the beginning of October, he competed in his second tournament. He did 3 events.
His first event was padded swords.
Next he did flag sparring. He loves this event and took 2nd. (His last opponent was tough and a lot bigger. At one point they were tied and they both pulled the flags off but it was too close to tell who pulled it off first. From our home video it looks like Carter pulled it off first but what can ya do? He was still excited to get a trophy.)
His third event was forms. He actually did this twice. He did Chon Ji and did awesome!

A few weeks later he had a belt test. He tested to his Little Dragon brown belt. I'm so proud of him. It took him about 2 hours! He will now be going to the youth/adult class and work from his yellow belt to his black belt.
They had to stand like this for 5 minutes!!!
I could hardly make it 30 seconds.

He had to spar with his Sensei for 2 minutes. Once again, he did great.
They retired his purple belt. Carter missed his last belt test so he actually skipped a belt to get to brown.

 Bailey and Carter's pumpkins.

My little Belle. So I ordered Bailey a strawberry shortcake costume back in September and never got it! Luckily her cousin MyKenna has been letting her borrow all her fun princess dresses to play with so we could use them for Halloween.
Carter was a ninja (some thought he was a mummy). He had a bout 3 different ninja costumes but settled on the white one for trick or treating.

And the most recent (and the only picture taken on Thanksgiving)
Carter's little tooth FINALLY fell out!! He was so excited and even more excited when he got his note and dollar from the tooth fairy.

Whew! With December approaching and the holidays near, it's bound to be busy again. I hope everyone's holidays are great and I plan on another big post after the New Year!

Lake Powell 2010

A couple of weeks ago, we got to go to Lake Powell. We look forward to this trip all year long! The weather was perfect and we all had a really good time.

Posted by PicasaWe did a little cliff jumping. (I chickened out and am a little embarassed by my small 10 foot cliff. The little boys showed me up later.) It was a lot of fun to watch the brave boys jump.
We were parked/camped in the Forgotten Canyon this year. It was about a 10 minute hike up to these Indian homes. I remember learning about these in elementary and have always wanted to to see them!
Another favorite think about Powell is to just take a ride in the boat to see all the amazing sights of the lake and to jump in the water and swim.
Dan's favorite of course is to drive the boats, but he also loves snapping some fun shots. These are just a few of the amazing shots he got of the scenery. I, however, can claim that I took the one of the houseboat with the rainbow in the background. (yes I'm proud.)
Out of tradition, we always take a group shot in front of the houseboat. The feet shot is always cute too. The center picture of Bailey was hilarious. We were heading back to the marina and she was just hanging out with Poppi at the front of the boat and had no idea her skirt was blowing up.

I just have to tell everyone how much we appreciate Gary and Leilani. They do and put up with so much to make this trip happen for us. It takes a lot of time and we enjoy every minute of it. We can't wait till next year!!!

Carter's First Day of First Grade

Carter started first grade last week. He was so excited and is now too cool to hold Mom's hand on the way to school and give her a hug even when no one is looking.(sniff sniff) It's hard to believe he's growing up!

He only went two days last week because of the vacation we took, but has made it through the long days. I love listening to all his stories of what he did and what he ate at lunch. I love that I don't have to pry the information out of him. He's such a sweet boy!

I can't wait to post about our Lake Powell trip. There are so many fun pictures I want to share!

July Part 2

On July 24 Poppi and Gronni took us up American Fork Canyon to this pretty reservoir. The kids had blast fishing and playing. I enjoyed just relaxing and watching. Dan had fun on the fourwheelers of course.
Carter skippin rocks!
They fished all day with no luck.

The last weekend in July we had the Webster Family Reunion. It was a lot of fun. It was so good to see everyone and do a little catching up. Jeff and Lynda put a lot of time into it and we really enjoyed it.

They had lots of crafts

On our way home we stopped in Idaho to go on a nice fourwheeling ride. The kids loved!!!
We were all exhausted by the end of the trip!

July 2010-Part 1

July was a busy month and I can't believe it just flew by! We had a lot of fun. Instead of a long description I'll just caption the pictures. (Because the pictures is all you want to see anyways.)
Patiently waiting for the parade.

Dakot didn't like standing so she just sat instead. It had to have been hot on the bum.
Waving down some candy.

Later in the afternoon on the 4th we went boating with Brandi and Aaron.
Playing in the water.
I've become a baby on the tube (it kind of scares me now) so I took an easy ride with MyKenna and Kelsie.

On Sunday July 4th we got to attend the blessing off sweet Halle! Bailey was in heaven with a real life baby!

Carter celebrated his 7th birthday with a friends party. He had a blast! They did some...
swimming,
games,
cake and ice cream,
(the crazy crowd)
opened some presents,
beat a pinata,
and more swimming!

Carter also got a skateboard!!! He's still trying to master it.
I can't believe my little boy is 7 already. I'm way too young to have a 7 year old!!! ;)

(Stay tuned for the rest of the month!)
